ABOUT ME

Who Am I?

Hello, I’m Carl Evans, a regenerated Christian ordained by both God and the National Association of Christian Ministers. Throughout my life, I’ve embarked on a quest to discover the true meaning of life through Jesus Christ, guided by the Holy Spirit. Through my deep connection with God, I continuously gain a greater understanding of His will through His Word and the Holy Spirit’s leadership within me.

My daily pursuit is to draw closer to God, striving for spiritual growth and reflecting the image of Christ Jesus. My ultimate goal is to bring glory to His name by being a guiding light for others on a similar journey.

Having spent many years as a church musician, I often find inspiration in hymns. One that resonates deeply with me is “My Desire” by Thomas A. Dorsey. Its heartfelt lyrics speak of my longing to do good, help those in need, guide the lost, and faithfully follow God’s will.

Educational Background:

I have pursued an extensive educational journey, attaining various degrees to enhance my knowledge and understanding. In 2020, I received a Doctor of Theology degree from Newburgh Theological Seminary in Newburgh, IN. Prior to that, in 2015, I completed my Bachelor of Theology degree at United Theological Seminary and Bible College in Monroe, LA. Additionally, I hold a Master of Arts degree in Education and Community Development from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI, which I earned in 1981. My foundational education includes a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education from Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, LA, obtained in 1968.

Work Experiences:

With a passion for education, I have devoted 44 years to this field, making a positive impact on countless lives. Throughout my career, I have held various roles and positions. For eight years, I served as an Elementary Principal and an additional two years as an Elementary Assistant Principal at Flint Community Schools in Flint, Michigan. During my tenure at Flint Community Schools, I also dedicated 27 years as an Elementary School Teacher, contributing to the development and growth of students. Prior to my time in Flint, I spent seven years as an Elementary and Junior High School Teacher for the Terrebonne Parish School Board in Houma, Louisiana. These diverse experiences have shaped me as an educator and allowed me to make a meaningful difference in the lives of many students and communities.

My educational background and extensive work experiences have equipped me with a wealth of knowledge, skills, and a deep commitment to nurturing and inspiring others through education. I continue to be driven by my passion to empower individuals and contribute to their growth and development.

Religious Affiliations:

I am proud to be a member of the National Association of Christian Ministers and actively participate in the New Jerusalem Full Gospel Baptist Church located in Flint, MI.
